Borderlands 4 PC Stuttering: Gearbox Reveals Unusual Fix for Stability

The latest update for Borderlands 4 was released, aiming to improve stability and performance. However, as not all issues were resolved, the developers at Gearbox offered players additional recommendations for addressing ongoing difficulties.

Gearbox acknowledges the presence of stuttering problems following the update`s installation. These hitches are caused by background shader compilation during gameplay, and are expected to resolve after approximately 15 minutes of continuous play. This is an unusual approach, as shader compilation typically occurs before the game starts to avoid such issues. If the stuttering does not cease after 15 minutes, Gearbox advises clearing your shader cache, a procedure specific to your graphics card manufacturer.

Amidst the technical challenges with Borderlands 4, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has actively shifted his focus to promoting the upcoming sequel to the `Now You See Me` film. Pitchford, who contributed to the film`s magical elements, states that his involvement in this project was more significant than his work on the Borderlands movie adaptation.

The September patch for Borderlands 4 also introduced a Field of View (FOV) slider for consoles, a long-requested feature by players, though it may impact performance. Additionally, the update brought balance adjustments to the Vault Hunter classes, with further changes planned for the next weekly update.

Among other Borderlands 4 news, the release of the Switch 2 version has been indefinitely postponed, and all digital pre-orders are being refunded. The delay aims to ensure better polish for the game and to implement cross-saves.
