Borderlands 4 Launch Schedule: Global Release Times and Editions Detailed

The highly anticipated launch of Borderlands 4 is just around the corner, with a primary release set for September 12. Gearbox Software has officially unveiled the global release schedule, allowing players to know exactly when they can dive into the game. For many regions, this means an unlock at 9 AM PT on September 11, which translates to midnight Eastern on September 12. More specific regional timings are provided below for your convenience.

Initially, Borderlands 4 will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. The Nintendo Switch 2 version, however, is scheduled for a later release on October 3. Interestingly, the game`s launch date was actually moved forward from its original September 23 slot for all non-Nintendo platforms, much to the excitement of fans.

Borderlands 4 will be priced at $70 for the standard edition. This figure became a significant point of discussion after Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford stated he was unsure of the final price, leading to speculation of a potentially higher $80 tag. Pitchford further fueled this debate by suggesting that “real fans” would find a way to afford $80 if that were indeed the case.

Despite the pricing discussions, Pitchford has expressed immense confidence in Borderlands 4, boldly claiming the game would be “worth it” even if sold at five times its announced price.

Beyond the $70 standard edition, 2K and Gearbox are offering several premium versions for dedicated fans. These include a $100 Deluxe Edition, a $130 Super Deluxe Edition, and a $150 Collector`s Edition, providing various tiers for players looking for extra content and collectibles.
