Nexon has announced the termination of a controversial in-game event for the PC release of Blue Archive on Steam. This decision follows observations last week that the event might be violating Steam`s policies. The event encouraged players to leave reviews for the game on Valve`s storefront, which contradicts the guidelines found in the Steamworks documentation. Consequently, none of the rewards promised for achieving the event`s goals will be distributed.
In a statement posted on the Blue Archive Steam news section, Nexon explained that upon launching the Steam client, they prepared this event and rewards for players with the aim of improving the service through valuable feedback. However, while preparing to announce the reward distribution linked to review submissions, they realized certain aspects could potentially conflict with platform policies. This led to the decision to end the event prematurely.
The statement further clarified, “Please understand that, in order to comply with platform policies, the rewards for this event will not be distributed.” Nexon apologized and pledged to exercise greater caution when planning future events to ensure full compliance with all platform policies, reaffirming their commitment to providing a better service for their players.

Blue Archive was released on Steam recently and saw a peak of over 22,000 concurrent players. The game has already accumulated more than 10,000 reviews on Steam, and this number continues to grow despite the event`s cancellation. It currently holds a `very positive` overall rating on the platform.
Separately, the game`s characters are set for a collaboration with World of Warships in the near future, which will introduce new themed ships and commanders to the naval combat title.
