While Battlefield 6 won`t offer an early-access period, Xbox gamers can now gain a head start by pre-loading the game. PC and PlayStation 5 users, however, will need to wait a few more days before they can begin their pre-load.
The base installation of Battlefield 6, encompassing the multiplayer and campaign modes, is relatively compact, requiring less than 41GB on Xbox Series X and approximately 39.10 GB on Xbox Series S. Players have the flexibility to install optional High-Definition (HD) packs, which will substantially increase the overall game size. Specifically, the Multiplayer HD pack adds 25.6GB, and the Multiplayer HD Marker pack contributes an additional 23.8GB.
Based on information from the community-driven Battlefield Bulletin, PlayStation 5 and PC players can anticipate pre-loading Battlefield 6 starting October 3. The official global launch across all three platforms is scheduled for October 10, commencing at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET (4 PM BST).
Looking forward, EA and DICE have confirmed that Season 1 of Battlefield 6 is set to launch on October 28. This inaugural season will be rolled out in three distinct phases and will be available as a free update for all players.
Recently, EA generated buzz for Battlefield 6 with a live-action trailer that playfully poked fun at the celebrity operator trend seen in its competitor, Call of Duty. Despite this, industry analysts widely predict that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will likely surpass Battlefield 6 in sales figures. For those hoping to bolster Battlefield 6`s success, pre-ordering the game and spreading the word to friends is encouraged.
Notably, Battlefield 6 marks the first AAA title from EA since the company revealed its plans for a $55 billion sale involving Saudi Arabia`s PIF, Affinity Partners, and private equity firm Silver Lake.
