EA and Battlefield Studios have officially announced that the inaugural season for Battlefield 6 is set to launch on October 28. Alongside this exciting news, developers have also provided a glimpse into the wealth of new content players can expect, including fresh maps and an array of new weaponry.
Season 1 will unfold across three distinct phases: Rogue Ops, California Resistance, and Winter Offensive. Each phase is slated to introduce a new map, alongside additional items such as weapons, enhancing the gameplay experience over time.
October 28: Rogue Ops Kicks Off Season 1
The initial phase, “Rogue Ops,” will introduce the “Blackwell Fields” map. Players will also get to experience a new game mode named “Strikepoint” and a novel vehicle, the “Traverser Mark 2.” Furthermore, this update brings several new firearms: the SOR-300SC carbine, the GGH-22 sidearm, and the Mini Scout sniper rifle. New attachments, including the Rail Cover and LPVO, will also be available.
November 18: California Resistance Brings New Challenges
Phase two, “California Resistance,” scheduled for November 18, will feature the “Eastwood” map. A new limited-time mode, “Sabotage,” will challenge players, alongside the introduction of “Battle Pickups,” a fresh gameplay mechanic. Weaponry additions include the DB-12 shotgun and the M357 Trait sidearm, complemented by the new Troy Angled attachment.
December 9: Winter Offensive Concludes the Season
The final phase, “Winter Offensive,” arriving on December 9, highlights the “Ice Lock Empire State” map. This limited-time event map visually reimagines the iconic Empire State building in a frozen state. Accompanying this is the “Ice Lock” limited-time event itself, and a new melee weapon, the “Ice Climbing Axe,” perfect for the frosty environment.

All this expansive content will be available to players for free, aligning with Battlefield 6`s live-service model for post-launch updates.
The full game is slated for release on October 10 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. In related news, EA recently released a live-action trailer for Battlefield 6, playfully mocking its primary competitor, Call of Duty. While Battlefield 6 enjoys significant pre-release anticipation, industry analysts generally do not expect it to surpass Call of Duty in sales figures this year.
