Battlefield 6 Launches Without Free Trials for Game Pass Ultimate and EA Play Subscribers

Typically, a valuable benefit for subscribers of EA Play and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (which incorporates EA Play) includes access to 10-hour trials for newly released games from EA. This feature provides a convenient opportunity for players to test a game before committing to a purchase. However, this complimentary trial period is not extended to all EA titles, and the recently launched Battlefield 6 is notably among those excluded.

EA confirmed that Battlefield 6, which made its debut on October 10, does not offer a free trial. This decision is somewhat unexpected, as many EA games customarily provide 10-hour trials. For instance, the previous installment in the franchise, Battlefield 2042, did feature a 10-hour trial for Game Pass and EA Play members. Nevertheless, EA`s policy stipulates that free 10-hour trials are guaranteed only for “select” games, indicating they are not universally available for every new release.

While the standard EA Play trial is unavailable, members of EA Play Pro, a premium subscription costing $17 per month, can obtain the $100 Phantom Edition of Battlefield 6 as part of their membership for the duration of their subscription.

On its launch day, Battlefield 6 achieved significant popularity on Steam, recording over 745,000 peak concurrent players, solidifying its position as one of the platform`s most-played games ever. This impressive figure represents only a portion of the game`s overall audience, as it is also accessible on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S consoles.

Despite the substantial surge in player activity, Battlefield 6`s servers have demonstrated resilience, managing demand by placing players into server queues. Players can monitor server status pages for real-time updates regarding connectivity and queues.

Although Battlefield 6 has experienced a massive launch, industry experts generally believe it is unlikely to surpass the sales performance of Activision`s Call of Duty: Black Ops 7.
