Battlefield 2042 Player Recreates Iconic Call of Duty Map ‘Shipment’ Pre-Launch

Upon exploring the user-generated content available in Battlefield 2042`s Portal mode, players will discover that a well-known map from its rival franchise, Call of Duty, has already been meticulously recreated.

With the Portal creation tools becoming accessible a day prior to Battlefield 2042`s official launch, the user DANNYonPC leveraged them to rebuild Call of Duty`s Shipment map. A YouTube video from the creator clarified that this rendition of Shipment draws inspiration from its 2019 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot version, which notably introduced additional pathways on elevated sections.

Shipment, originally featured in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, is renowned for its straightforward design and the distinctive chaotic gameplay it delivers. It has graced numerous Call of Duty titles, with its frequent reappearances surpassed only by Nuketown.

Due to its confined dimensions, Shipment serves as a logical initial undertaking for a map editor. Its compact environment consistently results in intense, explosive confrontations where players often struggle to survive for even a minute before being eliminated. Fundamentally, Shipment`s intense, close-quarters combat stands in stark contrast to Battlefield`s signature gameplay, which emphasizes expansive maps and large-scale warfare.

As this fan-made map was unveiled before Battlefield 2042`s official release, no live gameplay of this `Battlefield-ified` Shipment was initially available. However, the creation quickly became a humorous topic on social media. For instance, X (formerly Twitter) user BrokenMachine quipped:

“We got Shipment in Battlefield 2042 before GTA 6.”

Beyond fan creations, Battlefield 2042 also achieved significant pre-launch success, reportedly generating $100 million in revenue from pre-sales alone. Now that the game is playable, players can explore various resources, including reviews and guides, to enhance their multiplayer experience.
