Devolver Digital encourages players to take Baby Steps on the go, as the unique walking simulator has officially received Steam Deck verification, making it fully compatible with the portable PC handheld.
In Baby Steps, players guide Nate, an unemployed individual who discovers his ability to walk and endeavors to “find meaning in a wasted life,” according to the game`s official description. Devolver Digital also highlights on Steam the amusing possibility for players to help Nate scale a mountain within the game, perhaps even while they are literally climbing a mountain themselves.
The ESRB rating for Baby Steps, revealed last week, proved quite notable. It describes the game`s setting as “a mystical realm full of quirky and bizarre characters,” specifically mentioning “human/donkey hybrids with exposed male genitalia.” The article humorously advises players not to expect similar real-world encounters while playing the game on their Steam Deck and suggests contacting authorities and fleeing if such an unlikely event occurs.
Baby Steps` release was postponed last month to avoid conflicting with Hollow Knight: Silksong. The development team—comprising Bennett Foddy (known for Getting Over It), Gabe Cuzzillo (Ape Out), and Maxi Boch (Ape Out)—creatively embraced this delay by releasing a brief trailer depicting Nate ascending a statue of Hornet, Silksong`s main character.
Baby Steps is scheduled for release on September 23 for both PC and PlayStation 5 platforms.
