Ubisoft has released a new update for Assassin`s Creed Shadows, bringing significant enhancements alongside general fixes. The highlight is the introduction of a New Game Plus mode, allowing players to embark on fresh playthroughs while retaining all previously acquired skills, gear, allies, and hideout progress.
Accessing New Game Plus is possible through the Animus`s memory menu, once the narratives of Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro are concluded. Completing this mode rewards players with exclusive new katanas: the legendary `Whisper Gold` and `Dragon`s Gold,` both featuring unique engravings. Players can repeat New Game Plus up to eight times, with each subsequent run escalating in enemy strength and challenge difficulty.
Furthermore, the update elevates the level cap from 60 to 80, introducing more formidable enemies with improved tactics and awareness. The knowledge rank system has also been expanded to Rank 10, enabling players to acquire a wider range of skills, passives, and combat abilities. New trophies are available for achieving Level 80, Knowledge Rank 10, and acquiring the New Game Plus reward katanas.
Balance adjustments include a minor increase in crafting material requirements for item upgrades, and a boost to ally health and damage scaling with player level. Critical bug fixes address issues such as damage reduction perks failing against certain enemy projectiles, and an error where damage-dealing assassinations yielded less adrenaline than successful stealth takedowns. A comprehensive list of all changes is available on Ubisoft`s official blog.
For those curious about the game`s overall quality, a review of Assassin`s Creed Shadows is available. Additionally, the first expansion, `Claws of Awaji,` is slated for release later this year.
