Aspyr Hints at More Tomb Raider Ports for Nintendo Switch 2

Following the successful surprise release of Tomb Raider: Definitive Edition—the 2013 reboot that marked a new chapter for Lara Croft—on Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 last month, Aspyr indicates that the strong community reaction might lead to further *Tomb Raider* ports coming to the Switch 2 platform.

The Possibility of the Survivor Trilogy

Jordon Reese, Product Manager at Aspyr, recently addressed queries regarding the potential porting of the remaining titles in the “Survivor” trilogy—*Rise of the Tomb Raider* and *Shadow of the Tomb Raider*—to Switch 2 during an interview. While Reese did not provide direct confirmation, he strongly suggested the possibility remains open.

“We`ve successfully returned the classic era [Tomb Raider 1-6] and now the origin story of Lara Croft to modern Nintendo platforms,” said Reese. “We can`t announce anything at the moment, but the passionate response to this release is strong encouragement for us to continue exploring those possibilities.”

Reese also confirmed that the existing *Tomb Raider* Switch ports will receive future patches, though specifics were not shared. Separately, *Tomb Raider* is scheduled for release on mobile platforms in February 2026.

The Future of the Franchise

Earlier this month, two new core franchise installments were revealed. Crystal Dynamics plans to launch a remake of the original game, titled Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, in 2026. This will be succeeded in 2027 by Tomb Raider: Catalyst, an entirely new adventure starring Lara Croft.

Camilla Luddington, who voiced Lara Croft throughout the Survivor trilogy, recently announced her departure from the role, extending her best wishes to the new voice actress, Alix Wilton Regan.

Beyond the video games, the franchise is expanding into television. Prime Video`s Tomb Raider TV series will star Sophie Turner as Lara Croft, alongside supporting actors including Sigourney Weaver, Martin Bobb-Semple, and Jason Isaacs. A release date for the series has yet to be confirmed.
