Arc Raiders: Free Open Test This Weekend Across All Platforms

Embark Studios has revealed that their anticipated extraction shooter, Arc Raiders, will host a free “server slam” test available to all players this weekend across every platform.

This open test will take place from October 17-19, allowing all players to experience Arc Raiders on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. While numerous closed tests have been conducted previously, this public “server slam” is described as the crucial final preparation before the game`s official release on October 30.

Embark Studios emphasized that this is a comprehensive “server slam” designed to ensure a smooth launch. They invite anyone aged 16 or older to participate, help stress-test their infrastructure, and get a preview of the Arc Raiders gameplay experience.

Participants in the test will explore the extensive Dam Battlegrounds map, characterized by its “flooded lowlands and forgotten structures.” The game offers the flexibility of playing either solo or with a squad.

The Dam Battlegrounds map will feature dynamic modifiers throughout the test period, including challenging electromagnetic storms. Additionally, players will encounter the Traders of Speranza, non-player characters (NPCs) who serve as quest givers and merchants within the game world.

It`s important to note that any progress made during the server slam will not transfer to the final game. Nevertheless, players who participate and link an Embark ID will receive an exclusive Server Slammer backpack as a reward for their involvement.

Embark Studios, co-founded by industry veterans including former EA and Battlefield executive Patrick Soderlund, is launching Arc Raiders as a $40 title. Its release follows closely after the successful debut of EA`s Battlefield 6 on October 10.

Set in a futuristic world, Arc Raiders sees players seeking refuge underground from hostile “Arc” robots. They must then venture to the perilous surface to gather essential resources and engage in combat. For a more detailed preview of Arc Raiders, a trailer showcasing gameplay and mechanics is available.
