Originating in the 1990s, the animated series Aeon Flux played a crucial role in shaping MTV`s identity beyond music videos. The story of Aeon Flux unfolds in a dystopian future, centuries after a catastrophic virus wiped out 99% of humanity. The remnants of civilization reside within the fortified city of Bregna, overseen by a scientific council led by Trevor Goodchild. The protagonist, a gifted telepathic warrior named Aeon Flux (portrayed by Charlize Theron), is tasked by an enigmatic group to eliminate Goodchild. As her mission progresses, Aeon uncovers a complex web of intrigue, revealing a darker truth about Bregna City.
