A New 4K Collection for the Nightmare on Elm Street Series Announced

Horror icon Freddy Krueger, the infamous dream demon killer, is featured in an upcoming A Nightmare on Elm Street 4K Blu-ray collection. This seven-film set in Steelbook format is now available for preorder on Amazon for $175. While the release date and cover art are still unknown, the collection is anticipated to be a fantastic release for fans of the horror franchise.

Emerging in the 1980s, A Nightmare on Elm Street quickly became a cornerstone of the slasher genre. Its antagonist, Freddy Krueger, terrorized victims within their dreams, making him a uniquely terrifying and seemingly unstoppable force. Portrayed memorably by Robert Englund, Freddy, a serial killer returning from the grave, solidified his place among horror`s elite villains, standing alongside figures such as Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th and Michael Myers from Halloween.

For those who prefer not to wait for the new 4K steelbook set or are content with 1080p resolution, a standard A Nightmare on Elm Street Blu-ray collection is also available. This earlier release features all seven films on Blu-ray discs and includes extensive bonus features, such as retrospectives, documentaries, and even episodes from the Freddy`s Nightmares TV series. Additionally, a standalone 4K Blu-ray edition of the original A Nightmare on Elm Street film is separately available.

Further exploring the Elm Street universe, the film Freddy vs. Jason is available on Blu-ray. This long-awaited crossover finally brought the two iconic horror villains together in 2003. While perhaps not primarily terrifying, it offers an entertaining confrontation between these formidable figures. Another highly recommended companion is the documentary Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy. This comprehensive 2010 production delves into the franchise`s history, origins, and cultural impact, featuring interviews with the cast, crew, and creator Wes Craven, along with behind-the-scenes material.
