2K Shutting Down Servers for Older Golf Titles

2K Sports is discontinuing online services for two of its golf titles, The Golf Club 2019 featuring PGA Tour and PGA Tour 2K21. The servers for these games are scheduled to go offline on October 30, 2025.

Effective August 30, 2K Sports already ceased virtual currency purchases for both games. The publisher assured players that apart from this, no other immediate changes would be noticeable until the full shutdown.

Once the servers officially close on October 30, 2025, all online functionalities will become unavailable. This includes in-game stores, online multiplayer modes, and any progression rewards tied to online services.

Players were notified of these upcoming changes via email from 2K Sports.

While 2K did not specify the reason for the shutdown, the discontinuation of online services for older games is a common practice. Expiring licensing agreements for the official PGA Tour content might also contribute to this decision.

The Golf Club 2019 featuring PGA Tour, launched in 2018, marked the introduction of PGA Tour branding to the series. After a brief hiatus in 2019, the franchise returned in 2020 as PGA Tour 2K21. Subsequent installments include PGA Tour 2K23 (2022) and PGA Tour 2K25 (2025).

The latest installment, PGA Tour 2K25, currently ranks as the 16th best-selling game of 2025. The entire series is developed by HB Studios, a company acquired by Take-Two in 2021.
