For freedom to rise, the oppressor must fall. Blood will be shed, sacrifices will be made, but the idea we all fight for will live on forever. Assassin’s Creed III shows us that the smallest action can spark the flame that ignites the revolution: a soldier fighting for his country; a priest struggling with his faith to follow his beliefs; a mother willing to kill to protect her children; a lone assassin, fighting for freedom and justice. The strongest weapon against tyranny is the will of the individual… it’s time to RISE.

Zombie U Ubisoft Wii U Zombie FPS Survival Horror Game Announced (E3 2012). Turns Heads With Awesome Premise and Wii U GamePad Tablet Use. Trailer and Videos

ZombieU Gameplay Screenshot for Wii U

ZombieU! Finally a AAA, killer-looking, graphically impressive Wii U FPS action game!

ZombieU from Ubisoft exclusively for Wii U is a zombie first-person shooter survival horror game that arguably makes the best use of the Wii U GamePad tablet controller, via the Touchscreen, than anything else shown for the Wii U yet.

ZombieU was mentioned and some of it was shown at the Nintendo E3 2012 Press Conference, but for reason’s unbeknownst to anyone, Nintendo decided to focus more on Batman: Arkham City Wii U than the much more original and unique ZombieU; a game that is more of a system seller and AAA title than probably anything else in the Wii U lineup, including any of Nintendo’s own first-party titles. And a game that finally does survival horror RIGHT.

Here is the extremely gory and gripping ZombieU Debut E3 2012 Story CG Trailer.

At first blush ZombieU doesn’t look like it will be an entirely unique title. It’s once-again another tired zombie apocalypse first-person shooter right? Sure it is that, but it is the premise of the game beyond its themes that REALLY set it apart, and this is something that is only hinted at by the tagline, “How long will you survive?”; and not demonstrated in any of the trailers (but see the video below with the developers to fully understand).

First the obvious, ZombieU makes excellent use of the Wii Gamepad tablet controller to further immerse you in a zombie survivalhorror FPS, where you must work your way around city environments, picking up items and weapons and fighting off the zombie horde, in order to survive. With weapons and ammunition being in short supply, and a dangerous world where a few bits of damage from the zombie scum literally mean death. However the Wii U GamePad tablet controller with its touchscreen brings a lot of unique features to the table while making normal features more interesting. Access to everything in a game that is normally menu driven or UI (user-interface) HUD (heads-up display) driven is now done on the Wii U GamePad tablet controller while the action continues on the TV (no more bringing up a menu!).

Here is the Wii U debut ZombieU Gameplay Trailer from E3 2012.

So for example, Sonar allows you to detect the location of zombies, which you see right on the Wii U GamePad’s touchscreen. Your inventory to equip items and weapons is also on the touchscreen, allowing you to easily and quickly equip new items and weapons. You can Scan suspicious objects in the environment by bringing up the scanner and holding it up to the TV to scan an object. You can also Snipe by using the Wii U GamePad’s screen as your scope. Other features like breaking free of zombies and performing Finishing Moves with blunt weapons (like an ax) are given more ooompth by using the Wii U GamePad tablet controller. With the built-in motion controls of the Wii U GamePad, you must shake it to break free of a zombie who has grabbed you, or can swing the GamePad to kill a zombie with an axe!

None of these features is “new” per se however and all the developers have really done is regulate them to the Wii U GamePad controller’s touchscreen instead of having you enter a menu on the TV. Which in and of itself is quite unique and feels much more natural, as well as removing any annoying clutter and UI displays from the gamescreen. But one area where the Wii U GamePad REALLY adds to the experience is with the Door Hacking feature. Here you reach a door that is locked with a keypad, the keypad comes up on your controller screen, and you must then quickly type in the correct code, while being able to see the zombies coming at you from behind on the TV screen. This dual-view is something that isn’t easily done without having access to two different screens that each show something different. A feature the Wii U brings to the table and only the Wii U can pull off in such a smooth and natural fashion.

ZombieU Wii U GamePad tablet controller screenshot

….. Use the Wii U GamePad tablet controller in unique ways, type the door passcode while seeing behind you at the same time using both screens!

The best feature of ZombieU is in the premise though, as previously stated, and how the game is structured. In ZombieU, if you die, you are forever dead. And death comes quickly, with your character only able to survive a small amount of punishment. You will then respawn as a different person within a huge environment, with all of your stats and weapons wiped out! You’ll have to start from scratch from a new location, with a new character! As you kill zombies, you level up your equipment and weapons and get stronger and stronger, however if you die, all of this disappears and you must start anew! Thus, ZombieU offers survival in the truest sense of the word! Instead of a game where you play a linear or non-linear story until you reach an ending, you are playing to see if you can break your record for surviving the longest. While none of your stats transfer over to a new character if you are killed, you can actually navigate through the environment to find your dead body, which is now a zombie enemy to fight, and reclaim your old equipment! Suffice it to say, this is an AWESOME new take on the zombie genre that is definitely welcome and refreshing!

Additionally, ZombieU makes use of the MiiVerse and Nintendo Network for online play! If you are killed, an alert goes out to all your friends telling them the vicinity of your dead body, so they can reclaim your loot! Can you find your body before they do? Additionally, a badass multiplayer mode allows one player to use the Wii U GamePad to drop zombies in an overhead view using the tablet controller, whereas a second player must survive using first-person viewpoint!

Here is an indepth look at ZombieU for Wii U from a female developer on the game named Gabrielle Shrager who is the Story Design Director for ZombieU.

Assassin’s Creed 3 E3 2012 Gameplay Stage Demo Drops Jaws With Pure Unadulterated Bad-Assery

Assassin's Creed 3 Indian Named Connor E3 2012 Screenshot

You play as a Native American Indian named Connor in one of the most kickass games ever conceived.

Assassin’s Creed 3. E3 2012. Gameplay. Movie scenes. I’ll let that sink in….

Done weeping with joy? Epic bliss isn’t it? Already easily one of the most epic games Ubisoft has ever conceived, Assassin’s Creed 3 rips the door off the hinges of the series by placing players in the shoes of a Native American set to the backdrop of the American Revolutionary War against the British.

Take the amazing building hopping, parkour of past games and replace those buildings with trees, nature, snow, and rock formations… add in ancient weaponry, axes, bow-and-arrows and horses galore… As well as wild beasts, amazing graphics and an absolutely incredible premise, and you have Assassin’s Creed 3.

Known to make grown men cry; here is the Assassin’s Creed 3 debut campaign gameplay trailer from Ubisoft’s E3 2012 Pre-E3 Press Conference.

The above video is actually DIRECT FEED footage of the highest quality. It is exactly what was shown during the stage demo, but without the audience reaction and camera zooming out to show the person playing it and whatnot. Which is fine by me! But I’ll post the actual stage demo that was seen live when its up.

Rayman Legends Wii U Exclusivity Announced. Sequel to Rayman Origins Debut Gameplay Video (Ubisoft E3 2012 Conference). Absolutely Beautiful 2D Side-Scroller Uses GamePad Tablet Plus Wii U Pro Controller Together. Supports 5 Players

Rayman Legends Gameplay Screenshot Exclusively On Wii U

… Use the Wii U tablet touchscreen to swipe your finger and cut the rope on the right with the lil flying guy, lowering the platform for Rayman!

Rayman Legends is a Wii U-exclusive! Talk about a megaton, this game looks absolutely PHENOMENAL. This is easily gotta be one of the most graphical beautiful 2D sidescrolling games ever made, with graphics that drip with high-definition greatness and animation that rivals the best that CG-generated feature films have to offer.

Announced at Ubisoft’s Pre-E3 2012 Press Conference, the game is played using a conjunction of one person on the Wii U GamePad tablet controller, stepping in the shoes of a lil green floating guy, and another player who uses the standard, newly revealed Xbox 360 style Wii U Controller Pro to control the land-based character. With this setup, the tablet player is able to smoothly, quickly, and easily move his character anywhere on the game screen, and then swipe the touchscreen on the Wii U GamePad Controller with their fingers to interact with the environment, defeat enemies and solve puzzles; helping his partner to clear the way.

If they want to, up to five players can jump into the game and play co-op at the same time using any combination of Wii U supported controllers, be it a Wii Remote and Nunchuck or more Wii U Pro Controllers. The co-op gameplay really has to be seen to be believed, as this game uses it absolutely brilliantly, such as having the flying guy rotate a spiked platform for the other character to stand on, or cutting a horizontal taut rope with perfect timing to create swings for his partners. This is one game where co-op was built in from the beginning, and it really shows. There is not a dull moment, and the tablet controlled character is anything but an afterthought, becoming central in everything that is going on and must be accomplished onscreen. This is true cooperative play in the truest sense of the word.

Here is the Wii U Rayman Legends debut gameplay trailer stage demo from Ubisoft’s E3 2012 Press Conference!

Watch Dogs Game Announced By Ubisoft (E3 2012 Conference). Open-World Action Adventure Hacking Game Leaves Crowd In Stunned Awe

Watch Dogs Gameplay Screenshot (Ubisoft E3 2012)

All information is interconnected. The world is your playground. What will you do with this power?

Watch Dogs unveiled for the first time ever at Ubisoft’s E3 2012 Press Conference is the most impressive game I have ever seen in my entire life. And that is NOT an overstatement. You will watch. And your jaw will drop. GUARANTEED.

The buildup to this game is what really pushed it out of the park right out-the-gate, with an absolutely insane premise based on the very true realities of a person’s “digital shadow”, and how all this information about each and every person is available all the time, at the press of a button… instantly viewable to a hacker at his own descretion. Sadly this part of the video is cut from the online trailer, as soon as I find the full show version I will post it here.

Thus, the whole Watch Dog game’s premise is based around a world that conveys nothing but information on all that you see (giving it a kind of Matrix Neo vibe), with the ability to “use the world as your weapon”. Almost anything can be manipulated, use the machines and your hacking abilities to jam phone signals, screw with traffic lights, hack into the electric grid… but unlike in other games, in this game it is all seamless and you have access to these techniques at the press of a button. All information on every person in the open-world environment (which is as gigantic as a real city, or so it seems) is laid out to you like an open book, and can easily be manipulated. No damn hacking mini-games or obstructions in the way to bog the player down or slowdown the pace of the action… This game has a goal and you accomplish it with ease.

What really made people stand up and cheer though, outside of the flat-out awesome premise, are the flat-out incredible, awe-inspiring, jaw-dropping, hyper-photo-realistic graphics. These are, BAR NONE, the best graphics EVER PUT TO GAME DISC. The animation, the people’s reactions, the sound and voice work…. This game drips with graphical fidelity that is absolutely astounding and beyond anything we’ve ever seen before. And I thought Medal of Honor: Warfighter looked good!

Beyond that, the gameplay is absolutely phenomenal. As soon as you finish watching this GAMEPLAY video, this game will shoot up to the very tip-top of your most wanted list. Guaranteed. Everything from the gunplay to the acrobatic movement is so well done… It’s impossible not to be impressed. And this game deserved the standing ovation it received.

Watch. And be amazed.
