Hahahaha. Gotta love this photo. It’s great to see playful pics of the President visiting with children, these pics always bring a smile to my face. :D

It was a historical moment of epic proportions whose historical impact cannot be denied by anyone. Martin Luthor King Jr. paved the way for Barack Obama’s and other blacks who aspire to the highest office in the land; and gives them hope that they can too, one day, lay claim to it. Hopefully it will be someone like Herman Cain, Condoleezza Rice, Mia Love, Allen West, Collin Powell, Tim Scott or Bobby Jindel… But I digress.
This is an absolutely gorgeous, beautiful painting. Kudos to artist Ben Heine of DeviantArt for drawing it. Check out his DeviantArt profile and give him some love!
No matter what you think of President Obama and his policies, this is a historic moment of epic proportions, especially for African Americans and mixed race kids, as well as minorities in general. The fact that President Obama’s inauguration came on Martin Luthor King Day was truly icing on the cake. As soon as I can find it I will post the full video of all the day’s events, and another video to replace the stupid New York Times who seem to have the monopoly on youtube political events for some unknown reason.
This is sooo stupid but absolutely awesome at the same time! Hahahaha!
Farewell Mitt Romney. What’s Next? Will He Become A Republican Party Titan Or Set Off Into the Sunset? Never To Be Heard From Again?
This marks the first time a minority President, African American or otherwise, has ever been re-elected to a second term. As everyone knows, Obama is the first black man to ever hold the office of the Presidency and the first modern racial minority to do so (it depends on how you define “minority”, for example John F. Kennedy was the first-ever Catholic President, a religious minority at the time, but not a racial one).
Here is Mitt Romney’s 2012 Concession Speech to President Obama, congratulating him on his win.
Barack Obama won the election with 332 Electoral College Votes compared to Mitt Romney’s dismal 206 Electoral College Votes. Barack Obama even won Florida (barely, by 1%) which was highly contested and whose results weren’t known until two weeks after the election. Netting Obama the full 29 votes. Obama won every battleground state outside of North Carolina, including Virginia, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Colorado, Nevada and New Hampshire. While his margin was only 1 or 2% in some states, it was over 4% and up to 6% in some.
Here is President Barack Obama’s full 2012 victory speech, thanking Mitt Romney for a challenging election race and looking towards the next four years of an Obama Administration.
The popular vote was much closer however. Obama won that as well with 62,611,250 raw votes compared to Romney’s 59,134,475 raw votes. The saddest part however is that Romney got 3 million fewer votes than John McCain got in 2008! Having said all this, it was still winnable by Romney, if he had gotten more Republicans out to vote. Even so, it was a huge win for Obama in the Electoral College, even if each state was not won by huge margins. Overall, Obama’s vote count in the popular vote was down 8% from 2008.
So what is next for Mitt Romney?
Will Romney become a defacto leader of the Republican Party going ahead? Will he do what Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich, Mike Huckabee and Herman Cain have done? Transition into Cable News, set-up PACs and groups, websites and the like, and build on their influence in the wake of their election loses? (Newt was already doing this before he decided to run).
I hope that Mitt Romney will do what those others have done. He is still a valuable Republican, he simply was not up to snuff as far as his Presidential prospects were concerned. Read the rest of this entry »
The real question is whether or not the President will truly start to compromise and reach across the aisle to the Republicans, who maintained control of “The People’s Voice”, the House of Representatives. John Boehner remains Speaker of the House, Nancy Polosi’s career is thus over, and despite all the complaining of gridlock and paralysis of government from the people of the nation; They have elected to send the EXACT same group of key players to Washington D.C. once again.
Harry Reid, the Senate Majority Leader of the Democrat-controlled Senate, which maintained control as the Republicans failed to win the four seats they needed to take the majority, President Barack Hussein Obama who will now maintain power over the Executive Branch for another four years, and Speaker of the House John Boehner, who now has the toughest job in Washington with the only Conservative-majority branch of government… He will have to face another four years being between a rock and a hard place as he attempts to hold onto his Conservative values and those of his Tea Party and Republican partisan elected members of government, while also working with President Obama and Reid to actually govern.
This situation does NOT bode well for the country. These are the same players who failed to compromise enough to get anything done over the past two years… however now things are even more dire as the fiscal cliff looms. Will President Obama due what Romney vowed, meet with the other side weekly or at least monthly until they come to agreement and not stop until our nations economic dire straights are resolved? Or will he continue to push a liberal agenda… one in which the majority of Americans still disagree (the majority of Americans, unfortunately over 200 million Americans do not vote) despite his solid win.
Will America go bankrupt and head down the path of Rome and Greece? Or will Obama lead and become more than a mystical, transient figure, but one who stepped up to the plate and worked hard on fixing America. Can America absorb Obamacare, and will the House defund it, which is within their power? Will their be riots-in-the-streets from liberals if Obamacare does get defunded by the House? Many questions remain…. But Democrats definitely have the upper-hand… even though they only control two of the three Legislative and Executive branches of government.
What I am most fearful about is a more liberal Supreme Court. President Obama will likely be able to replace a couple Supreme Court justices. Although they will be liberal ones, most likely, replaced with more liberals, meaning the balance of Supreme Court power is unlikely to shift. God help us.
You Know You’re A Gamer When You Spell Bayonets As Bayonettes And Think Leather And Sex Instead of Soldiers And War. #bayonetta-ftw
When I first heard the word “bayonet” my first thought was, indeed, “Bayonetta”. Capcom’s hyper sexualized, loco action game with the leather-clad eye-candy machine known as “Bayonetta”. Any gamer who has played the game or seen it, knows what I’m talking about.
Who still uses the word “bayonet” anyway? :P
Obama spoke about freedom, and opened his speech with a great tribute to our slain Ambassador Christopher Stevens who was killed recently in a horrible act of terrorism that is still not completely understood.
I thought the speech was great overall, and ends strong, although I think Obama sounds weak, and like he is attempting to convince those who cannot be convinced (as the President’s “Olive Branch” to Iran has proven).
Here are my exact thoughts (not via hindsight) that I posted to my facebook exactly as I was watching the speech.
President Obama in his UN speech, talking about how he defends the rights of Americans to blaspheme his Christian faith, and will always defend that right.
So says the President who tried (unsuccessfully) to ban Fox News from the White House Press Corp. And kept it up for months and months and months, trying to form a narrative that was ultimately rejected. It took CNN, PBS and other news organizations telling the White House to back off before they finally did. As if the White House can pick and choose what defines a “news” organization worthy enough of the privilege to cover them. Read the rest of this entry »
9/11/12 Muslim Attacks On American Embassies. Pray For Family of Chris Stevens (Our Ambassador) And Other Victims. List of What Obama Should Do Following Attacks
The attacks were deliberate and planned, with the excuse being a film called “Innocence of Muslims” that is critical of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad. Riots in these Muslim countries ensued. Of course that is just a pathetic excuse by a bunch of Muslim fanatics and radicals whose blood-lust cannot be controlled.
What should America do following these attacks? Should we suspend ALL aid to Muslim countries in the Middle East?
Here is an excellent list by neveryetmelted.com that gets things exactly perfect on what President Obama and America should do as a consequence of these Muslim attacks on America (warning, click link at your own discretion, contains photo of Chris Steven’s dead body and the proud Muslim’s parading him around).
1) Freeze all Libyan and Egyptian assets.
2) Cancel all aid to Libya and Egypt.
3) Announce rewards for delivery to US military authorities of mullahs and militia leaders responsible for the riots and all prominent participants.
4) Launch cruise missile attacks on several principal Islamicist sites, including mosques, militia headquarters, etc. in Benghazi and Cairo. In the selection of targets, err on the side of excess.
5) Demand reparations of $10 billion from Libya, $1 billion from Egypt. (Russia received a very large and historic diamond in compensation in 1829 from Persia after the murder of its ambassador by a similar mob).
5) Announce a US Naval and Air embargo on flights and shipping from both countries to be sustained until the perpetrators have been captured and delivered and reparations have been paid. Shoot down any attempted flights, sink any ships trying to enter or leave the territorial waters of Libya or Egypt.
6) The President should make a speech informing the Islamic world that the United States will no longer regard extremist groups committing outrages against Americans or citizens of other civilized nations as distinct and separate from the governments of the same Islamic states which harbor them, fail to prevent their actions, and whose citizens provide their funding. Henceforward, any attack by Islamic extremists on Americans or citizens of allied civilized nations will be avenged promptly and with the utmost severity by similar acts of war directed at the governments, civil populations, national properties, and in particular Islamic religious sites on such a scale as which will cause Muslims everywhere to rue the day they permitted those extremists to act in their name. We are strong, Muslims are weak, and we will in future no longer refrain from avenging our people.
Bill O’Reilly’s “Talking Points Memo” on the O’Reilly Factor was also excellent. I’ll post it if I can find the video.
I should mention that part of me really wanted to post the picture of Chris Steven’s dead body being paraded around proudly by the evil Muslim’s who killed him. However, out of respect for him and his family, I decided not to post it. You can see the photo in the link to the blog above however. Click at your own discretion.
We Remember 9/11 On Patriot Day 2012. Never Forget – September 11th 2012 Photos of the Day Alongside Quotes From Politicians and Celebrities With Artwork and Wallpaper
Together we must stand united and fight extremism wherever it stands. Fight for freedom, justice and Christian moral values. Honor life and fight for the oppressed. Fight for those women in Muslim nations who have no say, no free rights, no freedom of religion, of the press, of assembly, of speech… no rights to pursue happiness as THEY see fit.
Truth. Justice. And the American Way. That is who we are. THAT is what we stand for. Wherever the oppressed may be.
Remembering 9/11 from President Barack Obama today:
“Eleven times we have paused in remembrance and reflection, in unity and in purpose. This is never an easy day, but it is especially difficult for all of you, the families of nearly 3,000 innocents who lost their lives.
But no matter how many years pass, no matter how many times we come together on this hallowed ground, know this: That you will never be alone, your loved ones will never be forgotten. They will endure in the hearts of our nation because through their sacrifice they helped us make the America we are today, an America that has emerged even stronger.”
From Israel In L.A. Facebook Post:
On this solemn day, our hearts and prayers go out to the victims of the 9/11 attacks and their grieving families. As the Israeli architect of the 9/11 memorial in NYC said about his creation, we now have a place to remember and reflect as a community. http://isra.li/remember
Photo: The “Living Memorial” in Jerusalem. The only 9/11 memorial outside of the US to include the names of all the victims and their country of origin.
Remembering 9/11 today from former President George W. Bush and Laura:
On this solemn anniversary, Laura and I hold the victims of September 11th in our thoughts and prayers.
Remembering 9/11 from Sarah Palin:
“We remember that eleven years ago today nearly three thousand of our fellow Americans were killed by evil men. Every year on the anniversary of 9-11, we read out the names of those who died and comfort their families, and at military recruiting centers throughout the country, young men and women choose this day to enlist to serve their fellow Americans and ensure that something like this never happens again. While some try to move on with their lives and let the tragedy of that day recede in their memories, our men and women in uniform remain ever vigilant for us.
